Formation of identity, and taking responsibility for priority setting are emphasized. An example of potential conflict between the student’s priorities and a staff nurse’s priorities for the patient are explored, with strategies for collaborative patient care planning and delivery. The emphasis is on how dynamic patient priorities are, and how they change across time as the patient’s responses to therapies and pathophysiology changes. ?This video is a great example of thinking-in-action and thinking across time situated in one of the student’s patients assigned for the day.
