The Design Phase: In this phase faculty assess the current curriculum, evaluate the current external demands for change, nationally, internationally and from local employers. The design phase takes the long view, and tries not to get bogged down in the plans for operationalizing the curriculum at the pedagogical levels, and course syllabi and financial levels. Dean Meleis’ goal was to have the faculty to “dream big” during the stage coming up with the best design possible.
