We are featuring video selections on EducatingNurses.com by leaders who are noted nurse educators that are drawn from their presentations on the three professional apprenticeships. We begin with Dr.  Sarah Shannon, on the subject of ethics in nursing education. She talks about the difference between professional ethics and bioethics, engaging students,  and helping them “find their keels” in their practice, guided by ethical principles and notions of good practice, rather than easily swayed by changing winds.

This series of insights from noted nurse educators stems from a webinar that marked the 10-year anniversary of the landmark study by The Carnegie Foundation on nursing education.  HealthImpact.org and The Benner Institute for Teaching and Learning hosted scholars who addressed the three professional apprenticeships. The first two videos offer insights on ethics education in nursing by Drs. Sarah Shannon and Marsha Fowler.
